Climbing in takaka!

Over a massive hill(more of a mountain really) next to motueka is golden bay! and as the name suggests its beautiful and sunny alot! yesterday we drove the super windy road over the mountain to a spot wheres theres loads of really good climbing, near a town called takaka. we got up sort of early and headed off. i was real excited cause ive not been climbin for ages! there was quite a bunch of us went - me, simon rhona, ella-rose, a kiwi guy called sean, tom and rachel(si s friends from college and a dude called pete cox whos been travelling in NZ an is staying with us for a week. it was an awesome place to climb. all sport climbs in a forest which was cool but meant that me an si had to lead any climbs we wanted to do because the rest of the group were pretty much beginners! that was cool, but really tiring and challenging. still alot of fun. we met a climber there who told me off for wearing my harness wrong and told me to dispose of it cause it was a bit old! i wondered how he knew this an thought he might just be a climbin geek, but then he told me he designed it! and thats what he did for living! which was pretty cool! went swimming in the river after climbing, which was sweet! had a really fun day, an went to bed knackered! hopefully go climbing there with si again!
