got slightly sunburnt yesterday! mainly because i intented to put on more suncream at the beach and didnt realise it was a million miles away! went to bed finally at 7 last night and at around 8 the entire blind in my room fell down with a collossal bang! this not only let in the light but also exposed me to the entire backpacker place compound i was staying at! i managed to screw my blanket up to stop this and had a really good kip.
i feel great today, went into the city in the morning and got a cup of coffee. this city really is lovely, its one of those places where they ve managed to blend old buildings and new really well. loads of trees!
ive just been out to pick up my hire car which is kind of a piece of crap! got really lost tryin to get back to the city! loadsa cycle lanes here, which is great if your on a bike but hard if your driving, they re every where! it seems old cars survive really well here cause they dont salt the roads in winter. im thinking of buying a car tho cause loads of folk at this place are leaving an selling really good cars an camper vans for 500 to 2000 dollars. which means you can get a good car for 250 quid. awesome! im hoping its the same all over cause ive got my rental now so id better use it to get to nelson. off to see the city a bit more before driving up the coast to kaikoura tonight.
